Possessing over 35 years of solid practice and experience in the business of electrical engineering and specializing in the fields of consultancy, power demand management, energy conservation, specialty electrical contracting/automation services, and possessing skills in the operation, and maintenance of switchyards, substations, power generating plants, large electrical transformers and alternators including rehabilitation/repair services, Engr. Bonifacio J. Eyales is the founder and present President and CEO of SGEC. He is the inventor of the EER technology, spending the last 25 years of research and development of a proprietary technology currently patented in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Hongkong, Malaysia, GCC, ARIPO regions, U.K., European Union member countries, and all other PCT contracting states.
Jesus P. Estanislao, Ph. D.
Chairman
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, an M.A. in Economics from Fordham University, and both a Ph.B. and an A.B. in Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of San Carlos.
Dr. Estanislao is the Founder of the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia, and he serves as Chairman of the Center for Excellence in Governance. He is a University Professor at the University of Asia and the Pacific, a columnist for The Manila Bulletin, and a Visiting Professor at IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.
Previously, he held significant roles including Secretary of Finance and Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning and Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) for the Republic of the Philippines. He was also the Founding Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo and the Founding President of the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Dr. Estanislao has been involved in numerous organizations and councils, contributing to governance reforms, financial markets development, and economic planning both domestically and internationally. He has received several prestigious awards, including the TOFIL Award, Management Man of the Year, and the Philippine Legion of Honor, Rank of Commander. His extensive career in public service, academia, and private sector governance underscores his commitment to excellence in leadership and economic development.
Russ O. Alfonso
Chief Executive Officer
He holds a BSBA in Marketing Management from De La Salle University and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management. His career spans several leadership roles, emphasizing his expertise in marketing, entrepreneurship, and business development.
Currently, Russ serves as the Chief Executive Officer of GEM Power Philippines Inc. and Director of FinAsiaTech Inc., focusing on renewable energy and modernizing transportation through technology. Since 2019, he has directed ALFATEC Inc., overseeing e-commerce and health tech product distribution, and has been the Managing Director of RS Concepts Inc. since 1996, where he pioneered the full-color electronic billboard industry in the Philippines.
Throughout his career, Russ has received numerous accolades, including the La Sallian Achiever in Advertising award and a Superior Performance citation from AIM. He further enhanced his skills with an executive education course on Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning from the National University of Singapore.
Jesus N. Alcordo
Director
An esteemed professional in the energy sector, has a distinguished career marked by significant leadership roles. He holds a Doctor of Technology in Energy Management (Honoris Causa) from the University of San Carlos, where he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Additionally, he completed an Executive Program in Business Administration at Columbia University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Currently, Mr. Alcordo serves as Chairman of Sinag Global Energy Corp. and holds directorships at Green Energy Machine Investment Corp., Enerplus Inc., Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC), FDC Utilities Inc. (FDCUI), and Countrywide Water Services Inc. (CWSI).
His past roles include President of FDC Utilities Inc., Global Business Power Corp., and National Power Corp. He has also been a Senior Advisor to the Department of Energy and held executive positions in various companies, including East Asia Power Resources Corp., WG&A Shipping Lines, Reynolds Philippines Corporation, and Union Carbide in both Indonesia and Central America.
Mr. Alcordo’s extensive experience and leadership in the energy and utilities sectors highlight his profound expertise in executive management and corporate governance, making him a highly respected figure in his field.
Evaristo M. Narvaez, Jr.
Director
He is a highly accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across various industries. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has completed the academic requirements for an M.A. in Economics from the University of the Philippines. Additionally, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts from De La Salle University.
Currently, Jun serves as the Chairman and CEO of Jackbilt Industries Inc., Breeze Woods Development Corporation, and Bluestone Finance Corp. He is also a Trustee and Chairman of the Forestry Committee at the Philippine Wood Producers Association and a Director at Sinag Global Energy Corp.
In his past roles, Jun was the President and CEO of Paper Industries Corporation of the Philippines (PICOP) Resources Inc. from 1982 to 1995. He also held the positions of Chairman and CEO at Pacific Nickel Philippines Inc. and Philnico Industrial Corporation. His experience includes serving as President of Bukidnon Forest Incorporated, a New Zealand-Philippine government reforestation program, and as Chairman of the Livelihood Enhancement in Agro-Forestry (LEAF) Foundation.
Jun’s government service includes his role as Acting Undersecretary and Director of the National Forestation Program at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. He was Vice President and Head of Financial Engineering at Bancom Development Corporation Inc. and earlier served as Assistant Vice President for Project Finance.
His career began with roles as an Economist and Financial Consultant for the Asian Development Bank’s UNDP Regional Development Study and as a Staff Assistant in Finance at Procter & Gamble. Jun also worked as a Financial Analyst and Budget Officer at Singer Industries and served as a faculty member at De La Salle University’s Graduate School of Business.
Jun’s extensive experience across various sectors and his strong educational background highlight his expertise in financial management, economic development, and corporate leadership.
Leopoldo B. Carmelo
Director
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and a Master of Engineering, both from the Western Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Educational Technology (CAR) from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Leopoldo’s professional career spans several decades with extensive experience in both academia and industry. He served as Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Computer Center at the Western Institute of Technology. He has also been a faculty member and head of the Electrical Engineering Department, contributing significantly to the academic growth of the institution.
In the professional arena, Leopoldo is the Chairman of LBCarmelo Electrical Cons & Supply and Carmelo Construction & Development Inc. He has served as a consultant for numerous companies, including Portigas & Associates, Actajanlangit Construction, and EBravo Services & Consultancy. His consultancy work spans various sectors, focusing on electrical engineering, project management, and educational services.
Leopoldo has been a dedicated member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) and the Knights of Columbus. He has been recognized for his contributions to engineering with awards such as the Most Outstanding Electrical Engineering Professor by IIEE and Outstanding WIT Alumni.
Throughout his career, Leopoldo has attended numerous international conferences and has visited countries including the USA, Canada, Jordan, Israel, and various European and Asian nations. His areas of specialization include planning, design, and installation of electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and residential projects, power system analysis, and project management.
